Skiing
Many skiers who are used to waiting in a long queue for the next chair or cabin are amazed at how relaxed the ski areas in the Großglockner region are.
And let's not forget the Mölltal Glacier, with the world's longest underground funicular, the Glacier Express.
The Mölltal Glacier, Heiligenblut, and Zetterfeld ski areas are less than 30 30-minute' drive from our little house.
The Matrei and Kals am Großglockner ski areas are less than 50 minutes away.
Cycling - Mountain Biking - Downhill
Mölltal and the neighboring mountain regions offer everything a cyclist's heart desires for all types of cycling.
Whether a bike tour on the plain, along the Möll River, a mountain bike tour in the Gletsher area, or downhill in a bike park.
Our beloved vacation region has the correct route and the right offer.
Hiking
An endless number of hiking trails can be reached in just a few minutes from our Häuserl.
Whether the approx. 7-kilometer long hiking trail to the Raneralm or the approx. 6-kilometer panoramic trail Winklerner Alm.
Or the hiking paradise Mölltal Glacier! Experience at 3000 meters above sea level.
The mountain summer also attracts many vacation guests and locals to the hiking paradise on the Mölltal Glacier. The journey begins with the Gletscher Express funicular. After eight minutes and 4.8 km, you are at 2,200 meters above sea level, where a different world awaits you. A refreshing change with pleasant temperatures compared to the hot days at the bathing lake welcomes the visitor.
Golf
A 30-minute drive from our vacation home, and you will reach the Dolomitengolf Club in the most beautiful and impressive landscape near the Dolomites.
Two well-maintained 18-hole championship courses with daily changing course combinations await you at the Dolomitengolf Resort. The four 9-hole courses, skillfully designed by golf architect Diethard Fahrenleitner, are a suitable challenge for every level of player.
You can look forward to numerous large ponds, elaborately undulating fairways, and undulating greens, as well as large bunkers with the finest white sand. A course for sporty connoisseurs - challenging and relaxing at the same time. And contrary to what the name suggests, the championship course in the broad Drau Valley is completely flat, making it easy to walk.
Fishing
The Mölltal, passionate fly fishermen will find an exceptional fishing area in one of the most beautiful valleys in Carinthia.
The Mölltal impresses with its soothing tranquillity and pristine river landscape with clear water.
Gliding and bouncing banks alternate between fast and slow-flowing river sections with pools and gravel banks.
The fish population is excellent, which has been ensured by the removal limits that have been practiced for many years. Brown trout, grayling, brook trout and even rainbow trout are at home here.
Just a few minutes' drive away is Lake Gössnitz, where you can not only wakeboard but also fish.
Here, unlike in the Möll, bait fishing is possible. Perch, trout, carp and chub can be fished here not only by adults but also by children.
A Carinthian fishing card (guest or annual card) and a permit are required.
These permits are issued in the municipality of Stall, the Cafe Seehäusl on Lake Gössnitzsee or the tourist office in Flattach.
White water rafting and canyoning
The Mölltal white water arena in Flattach, a 350-meter-long section of the Möll, is ideal for action sports of all kinds.
The natural gradient of 3 hm over a length of 350 meters (15 meters wide) is the best prerequisite for rafting, kayaking and many other water sports. Incidentally, the Möll is one of the cleanest and clearest rivers in Austria.
Canyoning in the Wunzenschlucht gorge and sliding through the eye of the needle. Explore the most beautiful gorges, let yourself be carried away by the flow of water and experience nature from its most exciting side together with our state-certified guides. The Caynoning tour includes 12 waterfalls between 8 and 35 meters, which serve perfectly as water slides and as a starting point for jumps and abseiling passages.
